Ixekizumab Taltz®

Ixekizumab is a humanised monoclonal antibody directed against interleukin-17A. The SHIKARI® Ixekizumab portfolio supports two distinct research questions: quantitative measurement of ixekizumab concentration and qualitative detection of specific anti-ixekizumab antibodies.

Scientific Background

Why Ixekizumab is relevant to biological-drug monitoring research

Ixekizumab has clinically important target biology, indication-specific dosing and measurable systemic exposure, making drug concentration and immunogenicity relevant research variables. Scientific source ↗ · EMA source ↗

Mechanism

Molecular Target & Structure

Ixekizumab is a humanised IgG4 monoclonal antibody that selectively binds and neutralises interleukin-17A. Source ↗

Indications

Approved Indications

EMA-authorised uses include plaque psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis and selected juvenile psoriatic/enthesitis-related arthritis populations. EMA source ↗

Regulatory PK Context

Plaque-Psoriasis Trough Exposure

FDA pharmacokinetic data show the effect of dosing interval on steady-state trough concentration:

80 mg Q2W · Ctrough,ss9.3 ± 5.3 µg/mL
80 mg Q4W · Ctrough,ss3.5 ± 2.5 µg/mL

Regulatory exposure values are regimen- and population-specific and are not therapeutic targets. Values vary with dose, timing, formulation and study population. This page is for RUO product information and does not provide clinical guidance.

Kit Selection Guide

Which kit fits your research question?

Choose the assay by analyte and measurement mode rather than treating drug concentration and binding antibodies as equivalent.

01
Quantify ixekizumab concentration
Use IXE-FD-TAL for quantitative ixekizumab measurement in human serum or plasma.
02
Screen qualitatively for binding antibodies
Use IXE-QLS-TAL for qualitative positive/negative anti-ixekizumab antibody screening. It is not a standard-curve assay.
03
Need both analytical perspectives
Add both kits when the study design requires quantitative drug-concentration data and a separate qualitative anti-drug-antibody result.
04
Need help defining the assay panel
Send the research question, sample matrix, expected concentration range and required measurement mode through the technical-support route for product-focused guidance.
